<hi style=afpcap>The commercial Douglas DC-5 was produced in small numbers with the Army Air Force obtaining three in 1944 which were formerly operated by the Royal Australian Air Force. The aircraft were briefly operated in the western Pacific before being disposed of by the time the war ended. <caption id=HC640001><title>Airborne shot of a C-64 </title>The Canadian Noordyn Norseman was developed before the Second World War as a light transport and utility aircraft, with the Army showing interest in 1942 with seven trails examples being obtained. These were followed by an order for 746 C-64A models, some of which were fitted with skis for operations within cold winter regions. The Army also obtained six C-46Bs with floats for the Corps of Engineers.</hi>
